Use Half Strokes instead of Full Strokes
This topic tends to come up around M/G and M/M tournaments each year. What do you feel is the best Playoff Format to determine overall winners from a big event such as M/M or M/G with 8-12 Flights?
Most clubs use an Alternate Shot type format, it may be aggregate scoring that turns into sudden death, or starts off sudden death. But I feel like this is the most popular format.
I have played in events that use strokes and use distance (multiple tees, with no strokes) to try and level the playing field for everyone. Both have their pros and cons and i don't know that there really is a perfect solution.
I have also come to believe that it may be more important which holes, tees and pin locations are selected, regardless of which method is used.
Anyone ever play in one, where they used half-strokes instead of full strokes? I wonder how this would play out?
